Taiteen ja taidekasvatuksen näkökulmia hyvinvointiin ja työhyvinvointiin: tapaustutkimus seinämaalauksen toteuttamisesta yrityksen virkistyshuoneeseen

Abstract

Käsittelen pro gradu –tutkielmassani Kemijoki Oy:n tiloihin toteuttamaani seinämaalauksen prosessia. Tarkastelen prosessia taidekasvattaja-taiteilijana ja kehitettävänä hankkeena. Otan tutkielmani teoria osuudessa tarkasteluun hyvinvoinnin sekä työhyvinvoinnin ja taiteen välisen suhteen. Taustoitan teoriaani avaamalla käsitteet hyvinvointi ja työhyvinvointi. Sen jälkeen käsittelen taiteen luonnetta sekä taidetta työhyvinvoinnin kontekstissa. Esittelen teoriakirjallisuuden kautta työtilan merkitystä työhyvinvoinnissa ja taideteoksen roolia työpaikalla. Lisäksi tuon esiin paikkasidonnaisen taiteen ilmiötä. Tarkastelen aihettani myös kuvataidekasvatuksen näkökulmasta tuoden esiin kuvataidekasvatuksen hyvinvointi vaikutuksia. Tutkielmani on taiteellinen tapaustutkimus, jossa yksittäinen tapaus on yritykseen toteutettava seinämaalauksen prosessi. Tuotan prosessista analyysin avulla yksityiskohtaista tietoa. Käytän apunani kehittämishankkeen teoriaa. Tutkielmani johtopäätöksissä selviää, että vastaavissa projekteissa huomioon otettavia seikkoja ovat prosessin syklisyys, taiteilijan rooli, tilaajan toiveet sekä tila ja paikka. Nämä kulminoituvat siihen mitä taideteoksella ja seinämaalauksella halutaan viestiä. Tutkimukseni tuo taidekasvattaja-taiteilijoille tietoa siitä miten toimia vastaavissa projekteissa.

In my Pro gradu thesis I study the process of wall painting which I accomplished for the company Kemijoki Oy. I examine the process as art educator and artist, and as a project to be developed and improved. I view the relationship between wellbeing and wellbeing at work and art. As a background information I open the concepts of wellbeing and wellbeing at work. After that I treat the nature of art, and art in the context of wellbeing at work. I introduce the meaning of work space regarding wellbeing and the role of art work at work place. Also I bring forth the phenomenon of space specific art. I consider my subject also from the perspective of art education, introducing its effects on wellbeing. My thesis is an artistic case study. My case is the process of wall painting done for the company. With my analysis I generate detailed information of the process. I use the theory of development project. My conclusions are that in similar projects the things and matters to be taken into consideration are cycles in the whole process, the role of the artist, the wishes of the orderer, the space and place. The culmination of these aspects is, what is the message of the art work and wall painting. My thesis reveals information for art educators and artists about how to work in similar projects.
