Tiivistelmä
The aim of this master thesis is to address a way how service design approach can support the user experience (UX) design workflow in the Volkswagen proup IT’s software product development process.
The research of this master thesis consists of literature review and semi-structured interviews. I study how service design approach and other design disciplines locate on creation of service experiences. During the interviews, informants from UX designers to facilitators that support the software product development teams described their contemporary processes, utilized tools and methods and ways to collaborate, as well as thoughts of the changing role of UX designer. The interview data was analysed with qualitative methods.
The finding of the interviews is that the UX designers wanted to increase understanding of the UX as a discipline, involve other team members more to the design process and have more frequent access to the end-users. With the collaborative activities of service design, different stakeholders can be invited to the
development process.
